To clarify best, the following is a trailer of a future weekly episode:

The joy of a 'no news' day. . . the routine

First things first. Dr. Norman Peters, The Elastic Man, had his daily transfusion of plant blood... an elixir (magic cure-all) of greens, seeds and miso. The “combination lock” to longevity requires more than one number to open.

The Elastic Man liked the city life so much he could not
understand how people could rusticate (dwell) in the suburbs . . .
yet alone the country.

In the distance he heard the 'big city' newsboy's often
discursive (rambling) shouting of the news headlines. The day
before he blared, “Malevolent ISIS executioner decapitates
hostages.” This day the news improved . . . like the town crier of
old . . . and in his best stentorian (extremely loud) voice he
shouted, “ISIS malefactor (wishing evil to others) defaces statue.”

Even though it was January, the breeze was redolent (strongly
suggestive) of spring. Imagine the beauty of the Whitebeam (rose
family) trees which dimmed the bad news... intractable (hard to
manage) in all seasons. He could hear the euphonious
(melodious) music in the distance.
