Kolkata- 12th September, 2017-The festive fervor and gaiety associated with the Durga Puja highlights the true spirit of Bengali culture. The Durga Puja stands out as the largest festival of the Bengalis and there are a variety of awards given out to recognize community pujas.The Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman organized by the Govt. of West Bengal is one such event which recognizes the innovation and brilliance related to in organizing these pujas. The fascinating aspect of the Durga Puja revolves around the fact that anyone irrespective of religion and community can participate in them.

The Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman festival encompasses community pujas from not only Bengal but different global destinations. The Govt of West Bengal has taken this unique initiative from the year 2013 and the theme, décor, ambiance, lighting and organizational abilities of the various pujas are taken into consideration before giving out the awards. With the inspiration of the Hon. Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, the awards have gained considerable popularity in Bengal, rest of India and the entire world.

The awards have been devised in a very strategic way and are classified as per Kolkata, various districts of Bengal, rest of India and the world. For the year 2017, there a lot of enthusiasm among the participating Pujas and currently the process of taking in entries are underway.
