Dallas, TX - Jim Robinson, long time iPhone user now, Android advocate, sounds off about the Galaxy Smart Watch by Samsung. His android review stems from continuous use for more than a month. According to Amazon and Best Buy, the watch earned high reviews, but what did this long time iPhone user, turned android advocate, be compelled say?

Android Review

The watch received positive credits for its intuitive, slick, and easy to use interface. A quick buzz of the wrist is how you receive your notifications, making it a great feature since you don't need to dig for your phone. However, the notifications don't always work. Accessing the onboard camera and video recorder function works great and is truly handy. Viewing text messages, emails, the weather, phone logs and even making phone calls is an extremely nice feature. Another handy feature, that works fairly well, is sending a text message via its voice command feature. When recording messages through the voice command recorder, it's important to do so in a quiet area or else the functions won't work. If there's any background noise at all, the function is incapacitated. Another positive is that you can add certain apps to use on the phone through your mobile phone's gear app. With an unassuming look, it goes unnoticed until you start to use it, then it becomes a social piece, and center of attention.

One of the biggest negatives in his android review was that it only works with Samsung's Galaxy NOTE3 and their S-4. It seems to cause some phones run slower when it's connected and it doesn't turn automatically half the time.

About Jim Robinson

Mr. Robinson, an iPhone user since 2007, and according to him “absolutely loved the device and all it did” for him and “had no visions of ever changing”. However he did in the summer of 2013 after feeling frustrated during the previous 2 years with Apple. That wasn't his turning point, though, it was when he needed Apple's assistance eminently, he was left frustrated and without any solution for getting back his 6 years of integration of his personal information, photos, music, and even banking information. This in turn moved him onto the Android HTC One which he now says, “Love it!” There's no turning back for Jim, and now he's helping others who want to switch by teaching and sharing all he's learned.

He's dedicated a website, www.iPhoneToAndroid.com, for individuals like himself that's gotten frustrated with Apple's iPhone. The website helps iPhone users switch to an Android phone. iPhoneToAndroid offers a wealth of information on making the change, reviews, tutorials, videos, articles and blogs about widgets, Googles equivalents to Apple services, and more.

Mr. Robinson returned the two watches he purchased after just 30 days. He then purchased two others, which he also returned after giving them another try. After experimenting with 4 separate watches, he believes there's some useful features, but until Samsung works out some of the kinks to improve its function, this android advocate is passing on the Samsung Galaxy Gear Watch.
