The work of art is always appreciated. Karin Balog teaching art to migrant teenagers has been appreciated and awarded. Students who are in many ways in transformation, portray an art based on Mexican writer and activist Juan Felipe Herrera and his poem 5 directions to go back to a home in her art class. The art depicts the direction to go back to a home is not always possible; there is a fear of crossing borders or traveling home without a body. Their art also refers to the house as a wreck or something that has totally disappeared. Migrant students made an attempt in the art class using paint, collage and frottage.

With her you have your space where visions and memories can be trusted to paper , at the same time a new way of translation rises, without the interference of language. The film 5 directions to my house was a testimony of this process illustrating the story on a canvas.

Meet Karin Balog the renowned and most talented photographer, and mixed media person. She has done filmography, since 2005 to till now she has been doing a tremendous job in her fields. Her first filmography was in VIP on earth and last but not the least is Errate in blue in 2022. Currently she has kept all her focus on directing short films.

Balog has studied photography at the Royal Art Academy in The Hague in the Netherland and is based in Amsterdam. Photography and film are one of her passions so she pursued them in real life and we can see how gracefully she carried her passion in life. All her hardwork has paid all, she exhibited with photo exhibitions in London (selfridge), Budapest and Amsterdam. Her work of art was also exhibited in India as well, and selected for Stockholm City Film Festival and won some awards in India and Bhutan.
