at the helm of Amira has been defined by my absolute determination to succeed and my passion for business. his focus has helped me build the company into a truly dynamic international business operation.

I felt that we had a product that the UK market was in need of. I wanted to teach people to appreciate rice

as a delicacy by bringing rice of the highest quality to the UK. Whilst the industry standard for aging basmati rice is nine months, Amira rice is matured for a minimum of eighteen months, giving it a distinctive scent and delicious flavor.

Amira has been in your family for four generations how does this affect the way you run the company?

I have a deep personal connection with he Amira Group and I think that it is inevitable that I run the company in a di Recent manner to an executive with a purely professional connection to the brand. Amira is a part of my heritage and family history and as such it has been incredibly important to me that we remain a company underpinned by our core values, particularly those of quality. Food takes pride of place in people’s lives and so oRering food of the highest quality will always connect with consumers across the globe.

Do you have any other passions outside of business?

Food is my greatest passion so I am lucky that this coincides with my business. I spend much of my time travelling and this gives me an opportunity to sample cuisines from around the world. I am a firm believer in the universal language of food and its unique ability to build relationships across cultures worldwide.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Be relentless. Believe in yourself and in whatever it is you do. Determination, drive and ambition are three of the most important attributes in business.
