Dubai, UAE, March 11, 2015 -- Iraq British Business Council (IBBC) invited Vizocom to speak at IBBC Conference in Erbil about business opportunities and challenges in the area of ICT in Iraq. Vizocom’s Business Development Manager along with other panel experts discussed the business climate and the roadmap for growth in Iraq. This prestigious event was aimed at building better opportunities and opening doors for more companies to expand their businesses in in Iraq and Kurdistan.

The Erbil Business Conference 2015 took place on 1st and 2nd March at Rotana Hotel and Erbil Chamber of Commerce in Erbil respectively. The Conference was jointly organized by IBBC and the Kurdish Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce. The Conference started with a message by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan, Nerchivan Barzani, read by the Minister of Trade on his behalf. Baroness Nicholson, UK Trade Envoy for Iraq and IBBC Chairman, emphasized that many of the successes of Iraq in the last decade have been in small to medium sized businesses.

The conference has been attended by authorities from both KRG and the Iraqi Central Government, more than 200 delegates and a mission of 30 IBBC members. Sessions included topics such as banking and insurance, the built environment and oil and gas, Healthcare, Education and IT. The Oil and Gas panel highlighted the challenges the industry faces such as security problems, lack of skilled labor, availability of materials and credit delays. However the panel highlighted that Kurdistan is an easier area to work in than elsewhere in Iraq, being less bureaucratic and more independent thinking. Mr. Ganesh Malpute, during his speech emphasized on the skill development of Iraq and how it will support the growth.
