This Press Release is written to inform the readers about Harry Coumnas’ take on the existence of vampires.

Harry Coumnas is a well-known entomologist from Rome. He has spent seven years of his life in conducting ethnographic studies on the vampires living in various communities across Italy. He realized that they are not so easy to find, and it takes a lot of efforts to track them down.

Harry Coumnas states that unlike what most people believe, vampires do not turn into bats or live forever. On the other hand, many do sport fangs and have a primarily nocturnal existence. These are just some of the cultural markers real vampires adopt to express a shared essence – they need blood or psychic energy from humans in order to feel healthy. Their nature is derived from the lack of subtle energies their bodies produce and these energies are taken for granted by other people. Certainly, it is the condition they are unable to change. So, they embrace it.

A strong impression of the real vampire community has existed since the early to mid-1970s. Harry Coumnas also felt the same when he recently met around 35 real vampires, ranging in age from 18 to 50. The vampires shared with him that they practice sanguinarian (blood) and psychic feeding – taking energy by using their mind or hands.

About Harry Coumnas

Harry Coumnas is a renowned entomologist and photographer from Rome. He has conducted 7 years of extensive research pertaining to the vampires in various communities around the country. According to him, the real vampire community in general seems to have appropriated very few of the trappings mainstream culture attaches to creatures of the night. Many of them dress in gothic clothes but not all the time, and a few of them sleep in coffins. This is what might be called a “defiant culture”. Harry recently met a group of vampires who shared some interesting facts about the kind of life they live.
