Paynes Turf is a family-owned business that cultivates a variety of turfs on our farms in Essex and Suffolk, including Premium Grade Turf and Pro Sports Turf. They also sell Topsoil, Border Bark, plants, grass seed, lawn care, and pest control products. All of Paynes’ turf is grown from their own seed mixtures, using only top STRI (The Sports Turf Research Institute) that cultivars for high germination, good establishment, and disease resistance.

Carefully scheduled seeding programs ensure availability all year round, as their turf is never harvested until it is fully mature. Regular mowing, spraying, feeding, rolling and irrigation are undertaken to ensure an even, thick and weed free dark green sward, which remains at an even consistency throughout the whole year.

They are also proud to operate their own fleet of vehicles at Paynes Turf. This enables them to deliver turf, topsoil and border bark to mainland destinations all over the UK and is one of the reasons that they have such an excellent reputation for reliability.

So that their customers can place their order for turf quickly and without fuss, they’ve developed an online ordering system. This allows orders for standard 1m² rolls of turf and bagged products to be placed 24/7, safe in the knowledge that the required turf, soil and bark products that will arrive on-site exactly when needed.
