When startup entrepreneur Roland Pinto created and launched RNP Technologies, it quickly became apparent that this little business had stumbled across something very innovative. RNP Technologies is an entertainment media and technology company delivering high tech products to satisfy the needs of an antiquated consumer.

When Roland Pinto started RNP, he decided to focus the company on the aging theatrical lighting and audio installations found in the nation's auditoriums and night club venues. Introducing robotic lighting equipment into locations like this completely changed the competitive landscape for a venue. It allowed the theater or club to completely redesign a light show, change the lighting design produced for one event and within a few hours, and be ready to go for a new production all by the touch of a few buttons and movement with a joystick.

In the past, production houses and night clubs had to put people on ladders, and hire large groups of technicians to "strike" a show and prepare for the next. People got injured, fell off ladders, and had lighting equipment fall injuring workers and damaging facilities. The products sold by Roland Pinto's RNP Technologies allows facility managers to lower costs, mitigate risk, and offer environments that are quick to customize and allow for modifications to be done on the go.

This is all done by the introduction of robotic lighting to the world. Enter Martin Lighting. An European lighting equipment manufacturer that has become the world's number one producer of innovative high tech lighting systems. Roland Pinto got his start with Martin back when the US distributor to Martin was controlled by a company called Tracoman. "These guys were great, worked hard, and built a great distribution network with strong after-sale service capability." Roland said.

Growing the Martin lineup initially is the Roboscan product offering which launched Martin's intelligence into the big production house scene. "It’s been a lot of fun being at the forefront of this new technology and being involved in a business that is completely redefining itself," Pinto continued. Although Roland Pinto's RNP Technology was a fledgling startup, backed by some small funding from his family and his own purse-string, RNP Technology continued to quickly develop its reputation and build its name in the industry having installed mid sized and large scale systems in night club and venues around the US, with the last install being done in Phoenix, Arizona.

The flexibility of being able to completely control a system like this from one console, never having to use a ladder again other than to replace a light bulb, and being able to design, test, check, and go have really made this industry a lot of fun to be involved in. "I can't wait to see where we will be with this technology in the next one, two, or even five years.
