Joshu Osmanski is a former naval pilot who spent five years of his career in the United States Military. Here he considers the skills needed in order to be a good pilot.

In 2009, Joshu Osmanski made the decision to enlist in the United States Navy. He did so immediately after leaving Bridgewater State University, having graduated with a Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, as he recognized that the navy would offer him plenty of opportunities to explore his passion for aviation. During the five years that he spent in service to his country, Osmanski piloted an F/A 18 and took part in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Southern Watch. There are a number of key skills that he possesses that allowed him to experience such success.

His aforementioned passion for flying proved crucial when he was undergoing basic training, as it provided him with a motivating factor to get through the training so that he could start learning about naval aircraft and how to pilot them. He delights in discovering new things about the planes that he flies and he is always looking to expand his knowledge about aviation.

JoshuOsmanski also has a keen eye for detail, which is something else that served him very well during his military career. Before somebody can pilot a plane there are a number of important checks that must be carried out to ensure the craft is able to operate safely when in the air. The ability to spot issues when making these checks is crucial to success as a naval pilot and failure to do so could lead to pilots running into issues that could have catastrophic consequences for themselves and their fellow soldiers.

Perhaps most importantly, Joshu Osmanski is a logical thinker who understands the need to maintain his cool in difficult situations. As a naval pilot, he was often required to fly his craft in stressful environments, making it all the more important that he allowed logic to prevail when making decisions. This same skill has proven very useful in his later business endeavors as a real estate investor, as his logical mind allows him to look at opportunities from a number of angles. This results in him making smarter decisions about the investments he makes, ensuring his long-term success in the industry.
