LED lighting has always been incredibly energy efficient, but initial costs were very high compared to other energy efficient lighting technology like CFLs or halogen bulbs. LEDs have since come down in initial costs and are becoming widely adopted by businesses around the country. LEDs can last upwards of 12 years and pay back the initial investment in energy savings in a matter of a few years.
