Laser bonding and hot-branding is a technique which is basically used in the fields of printing. It is also referred to as laser engraving. The term encompasses a wide array of surfacing techniques.

Generally used by the companies or business organizations to place a permanent label on products, the technique of laser engraving is quite common. It is a very effective technique which is cost effective and aesthetically pleasing. Life time traceability is offered in a variety of industries through laser marking to products, articles and components.
Another process is laser etching wherein to cut an image or a pattern, a laser beam is used into a hard material, such as wood, glass or metal on a permanent basis. Pattern’s location, depth, size, etc details are programmed into a computer through which laser is controlled in case of large projects. The strength of laser being used depends on the material that is being used and the level of heat that is required.
Two types of lasers are usually used in manufacturing setting; these can be hand-held and machine-operated. In order to correct minor errors or issues related to quality with the product at the end of the work flow, a production technician uses the hand-held units. To create a product with very precise work, laser etching as a tool is also used by artisans or engravers.
Laser beam can be used on a wide variety of materials such as leather, wood, etc. In case of high power laser engraving, material can get spoiled hence on such materials generally lasers with low intensity are used.
