The Manhattan Center Offers a Premier Venue for Live Performances

Organizers can choose between two world-class venues at the Manhattan Center. The Hammerstein and The Grand both have spacious, beautiful ballrooms and first-rate production, sound, and set design.

 
[Manhattan, 07/11/2018] — The Manhattan Center’s two world-class performance venues, The Hammerstein and The Grand, accommodate almost 150 live shows annually. The events center also provides an excellent entertainment production system and a full-time staff for logistics and technical support.

The Hammerstein

The Hammerstein is a premier concert venue for musicians across the world. It was recognized as one of the top 200 theater venues worldwide in 2017. Built at the turn of the 20th century, the former opera house boasts a 75-foot high, hand-painted ceiling, as well as many rigging points for the latest sound, lighting, and production equipment.

The venue’s 12,000 sq. ft. size can hold a maximum of 3,500 people for a reception-style event, while its balconies can accommodate over 1,000 more. The Hammerstein can also seat 120 guests in its opera boxes and has10 dressing rooms for performers. Some of its most notable performers include Stingand Gwen Stefani.

The Grand

The Grand is one of the Manhattan Center’s more intimate venues. It is famous for its 40-foot high vaulted ceilings, which provide outstanding acoustics for concert performances. Performers can have full IT and communications services suites, as well as production coordinators, at their disposal through the Manhattan Center’s events management team. David Bowie and Jon Bon Jovi are some of the famous musicians who have held concerts at The Grand.

The 10,000 sq. ft. ballroom seats a total of 1,200 people in both reception- or theater-style events. The Grand can also seat 600 guests in a full, seated banquet-style event.
