If you do not know what a golf club is actually, it is the stick using which you play the game and hit the ball. You cannot use the same set of clubs for all of the shots and hence it is the reason that people have derived different types of clubs to do their task. There are mainly four types or gold clubs namely woods, irons, wedges and putters. Each of them has their definite task and none could be replaced by any.
Irons are normally used for long range shots. Normally they are used during the beginning of the game so as to send to the ball to the maximum distance. These clubs are more of a power oriented shots, which concentrate more on power delivered rather than the accuracy attained.
Talking about the putters and wedges, they are used during the normal game play. There are many situations that might arise during a game of golf, like you getting stuck inside bushes, or sand dunes etc. These clubs help you to get out of such situations effectively and make sure that your game always remains on the positive side. Putters usually are used at the end of the game, or at the near end of the game, so as to put the ball inside the hole.
A normally golf club collection would have a maximum of 12 clubs, which would be dominated by wedges. There might be one or two woods and a putter in the kit. If one wants to develop a good game of golf, he needs to have a very good collection of golf clubs.
