9th February 2012 - Cakes, one of the best things that has happened to human kind. As a matter of fact, many people would actually agree to my first statement. If you are talking about any good ceremony or a festival or anything of that sort, then a cake would feature there, without any fraction of doubt. Over the years, many different types and flavours of cakes have been developed and along with that, one other thing that has been invented is the Cake Toppers.
For all those people, who do not exactly know what the toppers are, they are the specially designed pieces that one can see on the top of the cakes these days. These actually came into existence during the 1990’s and due to the personalization options that gave the customers, they became an instant hit. Slowly they started appearing on all of the cakes that were being manufactured, because people too wanted something different. As of now, it has almost become a custom.
The concept of these toppers was endorsed the most by wedding cakes. Couples loved to have their little replicas resting over their wedding cake, symbolizing their love and relationship. Most of the times they were plain and simple, but then even the couples wanted it to be a little funny. Later on, toppers with a little funny twist or toppers as per the theme of wedding started being made.
Apart from the wedding cakes, birthday toppers are another hit. Kids want their cake to be exceptionally different. That is the reason that most of the times, when you go to a kid’s birthday party, you get to see a different cake every time. And the beauty of these cakes is completely adorned by the appropriate toppers. Kids go completely mad over the toppers made similar to their favourite cartoon characters or cars or a replica of themselves.
These days, one can find toppers for each and every cake made. These cake toppers are both edible and in edible. The edible ones are made of confectionaries, and are eaten along with the take. As for the non edible ones, they stand as memories, and it reminds the people of the good times that they have had and the ones that are yet to come.
