Being one of the thousands of victims of Hurricane Sandy, Andrew Lesnak tried to copewith rebuilding his life both professionally and personally. Due to the traumatic events of October 29, 2012, Andrew had to face a series of mental health issues to cope with his losses. Part of his therapeutic approach to wellness, was to come forward to volunteer as a counselor, to address the mental and physical health issues of people affected by Sandy, similar to him. He took his commitment of volunteerism to the next level, by joining hands with Hope Sheds Light, based out of Toms River, NJ. Andrew assists those who seek help with their personal struggles to rebuild their lives after the storm. He became an advocate to those truly lost souls, by speaking with the victims who have
been diagnosed with suicidal tendencies, substance abuse and various addictions associated with this type of horrific event. By being actively involved with his clients, and committed to volunteerism, Andrew decided to create a Community Outreach Program, to help victims of catastrophic events. And, because of his successes, he has finally come to peace with the losses.
