How can drugs become an overpowering epidemic around the world? How can drugs become such a serious problem among the individuals to deal with traumatic experiences, mental disorders, peer pressure and personal problems? Without emphasizing economic social status and ethnicity, people usually take drugs to feel good. However, after a prolonged use the feel-good parts of your brain get used to it. Thereafter, it demands more of the drug to get that same good feeling and eventually it becomes an addiction.

Drug abuse usually involves taking a drug differently than how your doctor tells you to take. Indeed, addiction is something very difficult for the family members to cope with, since social, psychological, emotional and physical efforts could be presented. Besides, it leads to strain relationships for the addict and the significant other. The worst part is that family members begin to lose trust on the addict.

It is very difficult for a normal person to understand why people actually become addicted to drugs or how the drugs change the brain to foster compulsive drug addiction. They usually consider drug addiction as strictly a serious problem. Besides, they characterize the drug addicts as morally weak. Drug addiction is, in fact, a relapsing brain disease that causes the compulsive drug seeking and use, despite being aware of its harmful consequences.

Unfortunately, drug addiction takes its toll on the families and the loved ones of the drug addicts. With an aim to save the lives of the addicts and to provide their families a ray of home, Andrew Lesnak comes forward to lend a helping hand towards them.

Andrew could better connect with the struggles that the drug addicts have in their lives to make a place in the society they live. Being a survivor of Hurricane Sandy, Andrew lost his home, business as well as the personal belongings. He can never forget the pain of losing everything on which he has devoted his whole life prior to the hurricane. He considers his situation quite relatable to the addicts as knowingly or unknowingly, they are also losing everything.

Through a very successful organization, Hope Sheds Light, in New Jersey, Andrew Lesnak makes his best efforts to educate the families of the drug addicts. He makes sure that the people gain support, share the information, and learn from others who are experiencing similar situations.
