As the only Advertising and Marketing Communications program in the Greater Toronto Area to offer a four-month internship, Centennial College’s offering prepares students through hands-on application.

While during their placement, which takes up the entire final semester of the program, students experience what it is like to apply their skills, network and expand their knowledge in the real world, they obtain a sufficient amount of in-class lead-up in terms of covered topics.

The Centennial College Advertising and Marketing Communication program takes students through the entire advertising process, including: research, developing strategies, campaign planning, copywriting, production, media planning and buying. While covering these topics, students are also taught management (budgeting, human resources, etc.), communication capabilities, negotiating, planning, analysis and problem solving, leadership, organizational skills, effective time management and the ability to work on a team.

To prepare students for experiences they will have once they enter the field, incorporated into courses are firm deadlines, the need for multitasking, working under pressure and delivering professional presentations.

Students use the facilities at The Centre for Creative Communications to navigate the marketing communication program with the latest marketing software. This is especially useful once, during their fifth semester, students enter specialization streams that provide an advanced concentration in copywriting, media planning and buying or account service.

This Advertising program Toronto-based training is recognized by the Interactive Advertising Bureau as offering the most breadth of digital/mobile curriculum.
