Jamie Yetman Finnicum has always held her education as a priority. After receiving her undergraduate degree in dietetics, she realized how valuable advanced education would be for her career. She was then compelled to apply at Case Western Reserve University. Upon acceptance, she would move to Cleveland, Ohio to attend classes. The advantages given to Jamie Yetman Finnicum made her very grateful she chose to pursue a dietetic internship that offered a postgraduate degree. Jamie Yetman Finnicum’s existing knowledge was enhanced in incredible ways. She learned a lot in the classroom as well as practical exercises in the community.

“I consider getting an education at Case Western Reserve University to be one of the most valuable decisions I’ve ever made,” comments Jamie Yetman Finnicum. The opportunities that she was offered in her graduate studies program would shape her methods and techniques as a registered and licensed dietitian. Jamie Yetman Finnicum can’t imagine what she would’ve done without a Master’s degree.

Pursuing excellence in her area of expertise is very important to Jamie Yetman Finnicum. “Higher education makes a huge difference in my field,” adds Jamie Yetman Finnicum. Because of the extra steps taken by Jamie Yetman Finnicum, she can rest assured she’s done all she can do to provide the highest quality of care to her patients.

But Jamie Yetman Finnicum's education didn't end with her graduation from Case Western Reserve University. "As a working professional, it is absolutely necessary that I maintain registered status," says Jamie Yetman Finnicum. She participates in the Commission on Dietetic Registration's mandatory Professional Development Portfolio; "It is a recertification system that requires 75 hours of continuing education every five years," states Jamie Yetman Finnicum.

Jamie Yetman Finnicum has no regrets about furthering her education at Case Western Reserve University. Her internship and graduate degree allowed her to practice as a dietetic professional anywhere she wanted. "I graduated from Case Western Reserve University in May 2000. With my master's degree in hand, I was prepared to face the world," says Jamie Yetman Finnicum. Today, she works as a professional dietitian for a medical facility in Raleigh, North Carolina.
