Post Brexit, there has been exceptional increase in the import rates and the business rates too have similarly ramped up. SMEs are now looking up to the UK government for some additional financial support.
Most industry leaders are complaining about Philip Hammond’s failure to provide the fiscal stimulus that was expected for manufacturers. It has been further viewed as a wasted opportunity to get behind Theresa May’s industrial strategy. Because of this, the SMEs more importantly trust the UK government to achieve the growth that they are aspiring to reach.
22 per cent of the SMEs in the country think that the UK government will be very open to offering support to the businesses since the UK voted to leave the EU. This has led to a 32 per cent rise in the Transport and Distribution sector and 27 per cent rise in the Manufacturing sector.
The exit negotiations that the UK government will be handling arebeing closely monitored by all the SMEs across the country.
