The construction industry has witnessed an increasing amount of financial support over the past few months and it is predicted that the construction industry will rise to new heights in 2018.

The year 2018 is said to be very positive for the construction industry especially when they continue to receive huge support from the UK government. During the announcement of Autumn Budget 2017, the Chancellor stated that the government would be committing £44 billion towards the construction business.

In 2017, the valuation of most of the construction projects depreciated due to continued political uncertainty, delay in public sector projects and a weakened construction market.

This made the construction industry an inconsistent performer. With the profit margins remaining low and the construction policies majorly favouring the larger organisations, many growing SMEs feel that growth is out of reach.

The high street banks are expected to be watchful regarding the funds that would be needed by the construction industry in 2018. The problem with high street banks is that when they get nervous about any particular sector, they then avoid every business belonging to that sector even if the business models are different across those set of businesses.

The UK government has made a promise to increase the levels of funding given to the construction sector. This mainly points towards the alternative finance industry, which is currently filling the gap left by the high street banks.

Nucleus Commercial Finance is one such alternative finance firm that is lending a helping hand by offering construction finance to many organisations in need.
