Lately, the late payment issues have been on the rise across the country and statistics reveal that because of it, around 65 per cent of SMEs were forced to shut down. Moreover, 50 per cent of small businesses owed an estimated total of £44.6 billion, which comes down to £16000 per SME.
Various small businesses have been seeking help from the government regarding the late payment issue. Businesses cannot entirely rely on the government to solve their late payment problem.
Over half of the SMEs across the country have to wait for more than 30 days for their invoices to be paid. Such delays can be fatal for any organisation as their growth comes to a halt because of their valuable time being spent behind their clients rather than on something productive.
Spokesperson at Nucleus quoted that: “Invoice finance is a funding option that helps tackle the late payment issue for small businesses and start ups. With invoice financing, businesses can sell their accounts receivables to improve their working capital. Businesses are given access to funds immediately so that the money can be used to pay for the company’s expense.”
Nucleus Commercial Finance has been offering invoice finance to their clients for couple of years now. Businesses that have made use of invoice finance provided by Nucleus were able to sustain their business and were successfully able to tackle the late payment issue.
