With their proof based procedures many abortion suppliers are administering abortion pill in United States for over a decade now. The initial primary dosage is granted at the medical clinic and the second dosage is consumed non-invasively at women’s place. The politicians who are against abortion have objected this method as it does not convey with FDA guidelines. There is always a debate as which abortion procedure is precise. As per the latest study in science the proof based procedure of abortion pill is completely safe as compared to guidelines of FDA which are almost outdated as for now which in result is proving a difficult task for the laws which were banning this controversial procedure.
Even though people call it as the abortion pill, the suppliers of abortion basically use two medicines for medical abortion procedure. The first pill which is used is mifepristone of 200 milligrams which is marketed in United States as mifeprex and is also well known as Ru486 consumed at the clinic and then misoprostol of 800micrograms which is consumed at home. Though in 2000 misoprostol approved the utilization of misoprostol, medication known for treating ulcers, strict limitations are still considered by the administration like the medicine should be taken under doctor’s administration and it must be followed-up for two weeks which leads to three clinical visits for woman.
Time duration in which women can get abortion done is also shortened by FDA guidelines. The availability of abortion is only for pregnancy of 49th day with the three medical clinic visit procedure. In 63rd gestation of days is permitted in the home based procedure of medical abortion. By making the women consume the second dosage at their home, abortion pill providers made this easiest way for women who have to travel a long distance for ensuring safe medical abortion.
There is a reason for why this scientific study is such big news, by limiting the usage of abortion pills some states have imposed ban on abortion procedure. By passing mandating legislation that abortion is administered as per the guidelines approved by FDA this is the foolproof method to put ban on abortion. This affected the clinic in North Dakota which due to new state restriction had to stop offering abortions.
Politicians who are fighting against the home based method of abortion have been constricted by the scientists and researchers by their claiming the abortion pill providers are correct. In fact they also published in Contraception journal that the evidence based method of abortion is effective which has a success rate of 97.7 %. Later it was also found that the evidence based abortion method is much more effective than the three clinical visit based abortion method through the researches made earlier.
In between April 1, 2006 to 31 May 2011 more than 13,00 women’s cases were analyzed any researchers. The highest success rate of 98.8% during 29-42 days of gestation was of evidence based abortion method out of which women that completed the follow up.
The success rate declined to 95.5% as when performed in the later days of pregnancy during 57-63 days of gestation. But still the FDA approved three –clinic visit method’s success rate is lower than the evidence based abortion method as claimed by the researchers.
