CAST’s GPS RF-producing simulation system is a useful testing platform for aircraft dynamics. The simulator allows the input of errors into the IMU measurements to create precise simulations.

[MASSACHUSETTS, 12/27/2018] — The CAST-4000 GPS/INS simulator is one of CAST's best contributions to the satellite navigation industry. Military and government clients can use the powerful test platform that produces GPS RF signals to simulate loosely or tightly coupled navigation systems.

The Abilities

The CAST-4000 provides gimbaled or strapdown IMU measurement data on top of optional interface synchronized with GPS RF data to the navigation system under test. Clients can inject errors into the IMU measurements with the use of high-fidelity sensor error models.

The simulator also has mature avionic sensor simulation, including Barometric Altimeter, Radar Altimeter, Attitude Heading Reference System, and Doppler model. Military and government operators can access the said sensors over an optional 1533 interface.

CAST made sure to include post-processing capability so clients can determine system performance. The system works in accordance with ICD-GPS-215/150.

The CAST-4000 also allows clients to simulate sensors. By doing so, the test platform can provide the fully coordinated and dynamic vertical channel aiding necessary to maintain the Kalman filter stability of the navigation system.

The Features

The CAST-4000 generates navigational data without needing communication with a base station. The test platform can do this because it continuously monitors the position and acceleration of a vehicle.

CAST also mentions that the CAST-4000 has complete six degrees of freedom motion generation capability. It also has optional interfaces, such as SCRAMNet, 1553/1394, ARINC 572, ARINC 575, and ARINC 429.

The company has years of experience in developing, testing, and refining the accurate GPS/INS synchronization capability. Clients will find the system useful for the laboratory testing of aircraft dynamics.

About CAST

CAST manufactures an array of systems for broad avionics- and PNT-related tasks. The company develops world-class GNSS/INS simulation systems. The bread-and-butter of the business is carefully-designed navigation simulators.

Apart from simulation systems, CAST also delivers upgrade, maintenance, training, and repair services. For more information, go to https://castnav.com/ today.
