Indian DGAD has suggested taking action against the castings and other key goods from China for the windmill manufacturing. A similar petition for the China imported solar equipment is expected and this is to blow flood on inferior imports from China. This move would potentially seize the steep falls in the tariffs of renewable energy. The DGAD has imposed anti-dumping duty on China imported castings used for constructing wind turbines. The applicable duty varies from 6.57% to 32.95% that is differently applicable for different companies of China. The authorities of India are actively acting upon putting a bar on the Chinese goods.
Such goods are priced very low even lower than the cost of production and this has resulted to make a trade deficit of 51 billion dollars with China. The report suggests that the castings were imported from China and that China sold it below the normal price, our domestic industry suffered a major trade deficit.
Global Times (State-run newspaper of China) reported that India has initiated 12 investigations against the Chinese imports early this year. Our DGAD had also initiated an inquiry into the Chinese import of castings in the first half of 2016 followed by a petition filed by L&T (Larsen & Turbo).
