For some people sports is like an outlet, while for others it is passion, and for some it’s just a form of entertainment; though everyone has this one sport they like above all others. Some of the more popular sports include football, cricket, hockey, tennis and basketball, and these are the sports that have the most fan-following. But there are so many other sports that are not so popular, and below is a list of some of the less known—but equally entertaining—sports.

1. Pato
The national sport of Argentina, Pato (also called juego del pato) is a game played on horseback that is kind of a combination of polo and basketball.
In modern pato, two teams riding on horses fight for possession of a ball which has six conveniently-sized handles, and score by throwing the ball through a vertically positioned ring. The winner is the team with most goals scored after regulation time.

2. Kabaddi
Kabaddi is the national sport of Bangladesh and state game of some Indian states. It is played between two teams, and the object of the game is for a single player on offence to run into the opposing team's half of a court, tag out as many of their defenders as possible, and return to their own half of the court. All without being tackled by the defenders.

3. Archery
Archery, derived from Latin ‘arcus’, is a sport which uses a bow to propel arrows. Historically, archery has been used for hunting and combat, though in modern times, it is mainly a competitive sport and recreational activity. A person who is an expert at archery is sometimes called a toxophilite.

4. Oil wrestling
Oil wrestling is the Turkish national sport. It is called thus because the wrestlers douse themselves with olive oil. The wrestlers wear a type of hand-stitched leather trousers called a kisbet, which is traditionally made of water buffalo hide, and most recently has been made of calfskin.

5. Fistball
Fistball, a sport of European origin, is quite similar to volleyball in nature. Two teams compete against each other on two half-fields, similar to volleyball. They are separated by a center line and a net stretched between two posts up to two meters in height, and the net or posts shouldn’t be touched by either a player or the ball during play.

6. Ice Racing
This game is played on frozen lakes or rivers generally in higher latitudes in Canada, northern Europe, and the northern United States, due to its requirement of cold weather. Ice racing uses cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, or other motorized vehicles. Sometimes an icy surface may be created by spraying the dirt surface with water.
