A Facebook post from Quarter Horse News reported that no wrinkles should be seen at the corner of horse’s mouths, specifically if the horse is wearing a snaffle horse bit. 

A Good Horse article concurs, elaborating that a rider must understand which horse bit is being used and the mechanics of how it works in a horse’s mouth. Additionally, each horse may have a personal preference on how they prefer the horse bit to sit in their mouth.

All parties referenced agreed that no horse bit should come in contact with a horse’s teeth; the two-wrinkle rule, if used alone, may put the horse bit in contact with a horse’s teeth.
