Civil Air Patrol has always been there to search for and find the lost, while providing comfort in times of disaster. It works to keep the homeland safe. Civil Air Patrol members selflessly devote their time, energy as well as expertise towards the well-being of the communities. It is always aimed at supporting the communities with emergency response, diverse aviation, and ground services along with youth development and promotion of space and cyber power.

Serving as the Drug Demand Reduction Administrator at Civil Air Patrol, Heather McSparron was always aware of the wing level planning and execution of drug demand reduction program. She considered it her responsibility to make sure that the drug demand strategy was being taught at all the wing encampments. Being in the Civil Air Patrol, Heather McSparron attended various meetings and activities in Central Florida. Besides, she served as the Summer Florida Wing Cadet Encampment Commander in 2015. She has been involved with the cadet programs for many years.

From 18-20 January 2008, all cadets and senior members in Florida Wing joined their hands together to participate in Special Activities Selection Board at Patrick Air Force Base. Along with the assistance of Heather McSparron, this event comprised of many areas of competition, right from boards to athletic challenges and academic evaluation.

Apart from being a Drug Demand Reduction Officer, Heather has been quite familiar with the procurement regulations. Her skill enabled her to serve as a buyer at DRS-RSTA where she prepared and solicited quotes to the selected suppliers, analyzed the proposals, reviewed the cost/price analysis with program management, administered definitized purchase orders and monitored supplier performance.
Pertaining to her education credentials, Heather McSparron is currently pursuing Bachelors in Business Management at Purdue University Global. Besides, she attended Everest University for 2 years while working. She transferred the credits to Purdue and began the online courses while in Iraq.
