Bhilai: Hariom Epoxy Shield has launched its Epoxyshield TMT bars in Coastal Regions – Kochi, Kerala, Twin City and many more. The delaers have conducted various functions and seminars in different parts of the country.

Addressing all the gathering, Sandeep Agarwal, Director of Hariom Group have explained the benefit of this product which is going to be a boon to the construction industry. Embracing the purpose that what is the need of using Epoxy shield? It is one of the renowned technologies for manufacturing of epoxy coated rebars from USA and Hariom is happy to introduce it to the Indian Coastal market. It is hoped that this product will bring in a revolution in the construction industry and fulfil the dreams of the builders for corrosion free steel, especially in Kerala and the coastal belt of the country.

The use of fusion bonded epoxy coating on rebar is considered by many researchers and engineers to be the most cost-effective techniques for combating corrosion. Through stringent quality assurance practice followed during epoxy coating on the black bars produced, Hariom has established its credentials in the Indian market especially in Central India which has been growing consistently over the years. The team has installed facilities to produce 100,000 TPY and has the largest epoxy coating plant in India, at Bhilai Chhattisgarh.

According to the Manager of Quality Control, the factory, fully equipped with most modern facilities, produces TMT bars and the application of fusion-bonded epoxy coating to steel reinforcement is done in four stages, viz. surface preparation, heating, powder application and cooling. The testing on coated bars is carried out. The acceptance tests usually conducted are thickness measurements, flexibility tests and holiday tests.

General Manager adds, “We see a huge market for our product in Coastal Areas. Epoxy shield TMT bars are bundled / strapped with poly stretch film and ready for dispatch to the job site. Handling, transportation is again done carefully. The reinforcement bars are padded to avoid damage to the coating while handling and storage. To avoid over exposure, they are covered with a suitable opaque material to minimize condensation.
