Popular Video Wall Technologies

Video walls are also referred to as data walls. It consists of a number of damping panels that are shared tiles to create a large screen.

Data walls are connected to video wall processors that function as data walls of the data. The processor allows users to control data walls using command devices and inputs such as keyboards and mouses.

Data walls are a better alternative for one large screen because it allows users to adjust the active display area and also more effective than one large screen. Modern video wall processor with Digital Light Processing (DLP), light transmitting technology (LEDs), and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology are widely used in control rooms and command centers.

Some of the expected common features of modern video walls are: High performance, compatibility with sophisticated processors, reliability, and low ownership costs. This article explains the types of modern video walls seen in the command center and control room:

DLP - This consists of a rear projection cube and video processor/controller. Projection cube relies on lights to display images. As long as the lights are in working conditions, the projection cube continues to do. The lamp used in a modern project cube has a life of around 9,000 hours. The rear projector cube gives a small trail - the smaller the screen size the lower the depth, and vice versa. DLP technology is also considered reasonable compared to LCD technology. High resolution and thin frame are the two biggest advantages of DLP video walls.

LED - LED technology is similar to DLP technology. It consists of a rear projection cube that is interrelated and video processor. Light source is the only difference between LED and DLP technology. The LED cube is relatively more expensive than their DLP colleagues. However, LED illumination provides a sharper and more bright image. This is also low in maintenance. For the 7/24 application at the Center for Command and Control Room, the new DLP LED technology is a popular choice.

LCD - This display technology utilizes the ability that changes liquid crystal light to display images. The LCD consists of a flat tile display panel and connected to the video processor. Backlight is needed for LCD video walls, because liquid crystals do not emit light by itself. LCD video walls can be installed directly on the wall or can be integrated into a free standing cabinet. LCD panels are available in the ultra-tiped and ultra-ranging versions that reduce the use of space. The only weakness of the LCD panel is that they may need to be replaced after a certain period.
This is the most preferred video wall system that is compatible with mission-critical operating requirements. The best way to focus on the most appropriate technology for your application is to consult with the leading audiovisual system integrator. There are several senior consultants in this industry, and some of them will give you free needs analysis.
