Halmari Tea beats its record of last year’s sales figure of Rs. 401 and gains Rs. 422 from selling 130.4 kg of tea. Bought by Shree Krishna Tea Company, the first flush fetching sale made sure that Halmari breaks its own track record.

Halmari breaks its last year’s record at the auctions and gains Rs.422 for BOP’s First Flush Fetching. Breaking the sales figure of Rs. 401 of last year’s Halmari auctions, this year the mega tea producing house drew a tremendous profit margin.

“Breaking own record seems to have become our lifestyle! Halmari takes up this as a challenge and strives to create a new record for each year!” said Soham Daga from Kolkata’s Amarawati Tea Company which owns Halmari.

J.Thomas and Company Pvt. Ltd, the largest tea auctioneers known globally, auctioned a huge amount of 130.4 kg of premium tea offered by the company. The whopping amount of high-quality tea was purchased by Shree Krishna Tea Company which is based in Guwahati. Shree Krishna Company bought the tea for Planter’s Choice, a client of its own having a retail counter located in Jorhat.

Fetching such a large profit margin of Rs. 422 at sale number 14 of the Guwahati Tea Auction center, Halmari became a winner of its own record.

D.K. Arora, the general manager of the company says, “The tea auctioned projected a delectable flavor thanks to its leaf plucking session done during the first week of March. The climate, moreover, was a huge player owing it its suitable temperature and sporadic precipitation.”

First flush fetching during March and April gave the tea it’s malty and smooth taste. It was formed from the first tender shoots coming after 4 months of dormancy. BOP or Broken Orange Pekoe proves to be bolder grade of tea allowing consumers perceive its aroma and taste to the fullest. Furthermore, it also projects a balanced combination of flavor and strength.

The tea market opened to a massive demand for first seasoned teas and some of the best categories sale saw higher rates than last year’s openings.

“Our tea at Planter’s Choice has been selling Halmari Tea for the past decade as it exports the best quality of Assam tea ever. Purchasing tea this year also proved our belief in Halmari’s quality,” said Rohit Surana a member of Planter’s Choice.

Halmari has shown how they have taken up its own challenge to break and better its record every year. In fact, the whole team of Halmari hopes to produce the finest of CTC and orthodox teas in the coming years. The company aims to provide the best quality brews to its consumers worldwide.
