[NEW PLYMOUTH, 24/10/2017] -- Esko has a broad range of safety products that are designed for New Zealanders working in the most difficult environments. They stock premium brands and products that assist employees in various industrial industries. Most of Esko’s range is personal protective equipment (PPE), designed to protect specific body parts such as eyes, hands, skin and ears. Aside from PPE, Esko also offers products for traffic management, safety lighting, worksite barriers etc.

Esko’s Hard Hat Standards

All of Esko’s head protection equipment is tested and certified to meet the standards of AS/NZS 1801:1997. This standard sets out specific requirements for occupational safety helmets to protect a wearer from hazards and falling debris in the workplace.

To ensure staying compliant with the standard’s requirements, every helmet should be marked with the date the hat was issued to a worker. It is recommended that a hard hat should be replaced after two to three years of use, or sooner depending on its condition, and particularly if it is frequently exposed to sunlight or impacts.

TUFF NUT Hard Hat

Esko’s TUFF NUT hard hats have short peaks that minimise exposure to sunlight. It features UV-resistant ABS material to deflect and absorb impact from falling objects. The hard hats come in two harness adjustment types: ratchet and pinlock. The ratchet style hat is quicker to adjust than the pinlock hat, and it can be issued to more than one wearer. The pinlock adjustment is slightly lighter, lower in cost and is best permanently issued to one wearer only.

Esko recommends weekly inspection of hard hats, so wearers can ensure that their hat is still in good condition to keep them safe from head injury in the workplace.
