George Landegger has worked hard to improve the state of Alabama. He knows that the area is in need of jobs and has worked to bring numerous Chinese companies to Monroeville and other parts of Alabama. He has hosted two symposia that are designed to welcome foreign investors and company owners and help familiarize them with the area where he has requested that they consider starting their businesses or moving their factories. He has managed to attract one new company which is currently building a factory and has another company owner interested.

He doesn’t only work to improve Alabama by finding new jobs and companies to build factories, he also helps feed the homeless and less fortunate in the state as well. Since 2008, he has helped feed over 650 families every week in Monroeville. This number recently dropped down to 250 families a week, thanks to the improving economy.

Mr. Landegger also works to promote higher education throughout the state of Alabama. He is the chairman of the Commission of Higher Education in Alabama and funds numerous scholarships to help high school students to attend college and to make it possible for students who are already in college to remain there. He is also the principal supporter of the Rise Program, which helps educate learning disabled children in Tuscaloosa. The program is put on through the University of Alabama and is so successful that it is considered a model for similar programs in the country.

George Landegger has always been philanthropic and passionate about helping others. Over fifteen years ago he was named as one of the twelve greatest contributors in Alabama history. Booker T. Washington and Martin Luther King Jr. have also been given this award. His philanthropy has helped hundreds of people find work and a way out of impoverishment. Mr. Landegger hopes to continue to help the state of Alabama grow and prosper as well as other areas of the country. He is thankful to be in a position where he can help others and he encourages others to help in any way that they can.
