(Marina del Rey Specialist Says Alpha Mac A Good Alternative to Highly Addictive Opioids)

There’s new hope for chronic pain sufferers that utilizes the body’s own “repair kit” to stop pain from recurring, announced board-certified interventional pain management specialist Akash Bajaj, M.D., who is on the vanguard of this new procedure. Instead of relying on opioids, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic medicine and other pain relief methods, Bajaj has developed Alpha Mac, a natural, non-toxic treatment that utilizes the body’s own healing properties to decrease inflammation, which typically is the underlying source of the pain.
Alpha Mac is actually an enzyme in the blood that naturally inhibits inflammation. After the centrifuge process separates these enzymes, Bajaj injects them into the source of the pain and follows that by injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to promote healing. When Alpha Mac is injected before PRP, it stops inflammation, relieves pain, and promotes faster healing. Bajaj recommends that patients undergo Alpha Mac every 8 -12 months.
Chronic pain is often the result of inflammation caused by sports injuries, poor lifestyle choices, traumatic injury and arthritis. Whereas existing pain relief measures are intended to minimize inflammation once it’s detected, Alpha Mac prevents the inflammation from occurring in the first place.
“The beauty of this new treatment is that it doesn’t just stop pain, but prevents the cause of the pain, namely inflammation, from occurring in the first place,” says Bajaj, medical director of Remedy Spine & Pain Solutions in Marina Del Rey, Calif. “Pain interventionists’ efforts up until recently have been devoted to stopping pain at the onset of symptoms. Alpha Mac is a game-changer in that we can prevent it from happening in the first place.”
Bajaj completed his undergraduate studies at UCSD, graduating summa cum laude after which he simultaneously earned his M.D. and a Master’s degree in Public Health (M.P.H.) from New York Medical College. He served his residency in anesthesiology at UCLA Medical Center, where he pioneered the development of audio and visual distractions during surgery, anesthesia as a novel adjunct to administering anesthesia and alleviating acute painful states. He completed an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious University of California San Francisco, selected as one of only five fellows. He lectures before colleagues at medical conferences and offers his expertise in the media. He is double board certified in anesthesia and pain management.
