Officially the very first pro to sign with Major League Fishing when the tour was created in 2018, professional bass angler Timmy Horton has been leading the way forward ever since. He made a splash in his first year, winning the Bassmaster Elite Series Angler of the Year in 2000; since then, he’s had six major wins and earned more than $2 million in his career to date.
Based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Horton also hosts Timmy Horton Outdoors, presented by Profound Outdoors. It’s a family-friendly outdoor television show recorded on public waters with the focus on entertaining and educating anglers of all levels. He provides an in-depth perspective of how to become a better angler, fishing a variety of public waters around the country in order to provide a broad perspective of fishing action for viewers and to highlight different tactics and methods in various fishing scenarios. His extensive knowledge and laid-back style set the stage for an entertaining 30-minute show that presents fishing tips for the viewer in every episode.
In addition to many other television appearances, he also sponsors the Timmy Horton High School Bass Angler’s Challenge. Since it began, the Challenge has awarded over $140,000 in scholarships to local young anglers competing in this tournament.
