Hong Kong based wealth management firm Bliston Asset Management has been welcoming local students, giving them an inside view of what it’s like to work for a financial services company.

Bliston Asset Management earlier this year put in motion an initiative to invite local students to its offices for a continued work experience program. The program will be stretched over a 2 year period with each student being given a mentor to assist them in understanding how the financial world ticks.
Bliston said they had 2 students so far and will be opening their doors to 2 more each year for the next 4 years giving them a total of 10, which they said they will maintain indefinitely.
Bliston’s Senior Portfolio Manager said: “We are pleased to welcome local students and enjoy assisting them in gaining valuable work experience in the world of finance and wealth management”. They are introduced to all areas of the business from analyzing company fundamentals, Investment and Operations Management right through to Human Resources.
The initiative is a win win for both parties; the students get to feel and understand what it’s actually like working in an office environment, while at the same time gaining valuable industry knowledge. For Bliston, it gives them access to some of the local areas most talented students that they will have first-hand knowledge of and have the opportunity to offer them jobs to after they finish their education.
