Eric Julian Alvarez has now been involved in the landscaping industry for 5 years, and he is pleased to be celebrating that achievement today. According to Eric Julian Alvarez, even though he has only been involved in the field for 5 years, he feels like that half-decade has provided him with plenty of knowledge and expertise to be able to continue his work.
“Landscape is my passion. I love flowers, I love all kinds of perennials, and I even like mowing people’s lawns,” says Eric Julian Alvarez. “This job involves a lot of things, and I really do enjoy every single aspect of the work. Five years has taught me a lot.”

Outside of his day-to-day work in the field, Eric Julian Alvarez loves reading up on the happenings in the world of landscaping, as well as researching a multitude of topics relevant to his job. For Eric Julian Alvarez, topics of interest include how to make a garden into an ecosystem, and learning about the impact of invasive plant species, both in gardens and in the wild.
“It’s amazing to me how different combinations of plants can work
together,” says Eric Julian Alvarez. “You can really create a system between them that makes it so they help each other out. I love working with my clients to come up with garden or lawn plans that work for them and also have a lot of plants in symbiosis with each other. There is a beauty to the way plants work together.”

According to Eric Julian Alvarez, the landscaping is what he enjoys most, but his clients are truly the reason he stays in the field. According to Eric Julian Alvarez, working with clients on garden and lawn landscaping is another kind of symbiosis – like solving a puzzle together.

“I could have gone into any service. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do,” says Eric Julian Alvarez. “I was considering food service, or HVAC, or whatever. I have always loved flowers – I just didn’t realize I could work with flowers for a living!”

Eric Julian Alvarez looks forward to many, many more years in his field.
