Ever since she was a child, Erica Linzey always knew that she wanted to work in a career that would allow her to work closely with animals. She had a strong childhood bond with the family dog, Pebbles, and hoped to be able to help others enjoy their own relationships with their animals in any way that she could. Upon graduating from high school, she made the decision to become a dog groomer, working in a number of part-time jobs before she was finally able to secure a position with a local company. After developing her talents, she made the decision to strike out on her own, forming Linzey Dog Grooming in Davis, California in 2012. Along the way she has needed to face a number of challenges, all of which she has managed to overcome.

Though she was never a shy girl growing up, Linzey often found it difficult to communicate with clients during her first few jobs. Once she entered the world of dog grooming full-time, she found that her positivity and enthusiasm allowed her to work more closely with her clients, which in turn made them more confident in her work. She has also developed her communication skills so that she can converse with fellow professionals, which has allowed her to develop relationships that have proven beneficial for her business.

She also recognizes that it is just as important for her to focus on the administrative side of her work as it is the actual service that she provides to customers. She took a number of night classes in the months leading up to the founding of her company, allowing her to learn the basics of business administration and what she would need to do to keep her company on an even keel during its first few years.

Above all else though, Erica Linzey has always had a deep love for animals and this shines through in all of the work that she does. She is constantly learning about new techniques and training methods that help the dogs that she works with trust her, which in turn means she is able to offer consistent and quality service to all of her clients.
