• Cleaning matters: Many different types of jewelry, particularly silver jewelry, contain oxides and other price-reducing problems. Before putting your vintage jewelry up for sale, make sure that it is properly cleaned and looks its very best.

• Custom jewelry: One of the reasons that some antique jewelry is very valuable is that it is in fact custom jewelry. This type of jewelry can include some fabulous designs, and truly unique pieces. If you have an unusual-looking piece of jewelry, you are strongly advised to get an expert valuation before even seriously thinking of selling. Your jewelry may be worth a lot more than you think it is.
