Most people, understandably, think that a kitchen renovation job is something like building the pyramids. It isn't. This very misleading image of renovation prices is created by lifestyle media, which tend to emphasize the very expensive models in options and ignore the practical options.
Let's start with one basic idea – A kitchen is a kitchen. Good remodelling makes it a great kitchen. Expensive remodelling just makes it an expensive kitchen.
A few further points:
• The bottom line should be your call. It is not unreasonable to expect a kitchen renovations company to be able to give you a good workable quote for any work you need done. Prices should be based on what you want, not what somebody wants to sell you.
• You don't need to rebuild the house to remodel your kitchen. The amount of actual work needed to renovate a kitchen may vary, but you are simply replacing an old kitchen with a new kitchen.
• Kitchen redesign is a lot more straightforward than people realize. What do you want your kitchen? What don't you want? What would you like to keep, and what needs to be replaced?
• Kitchen remodelling isn't some sort of mystical process. You definitely shouldn't need a Ouija board to figure out what the price of your renovations is going to be.
