In July, 2013 the company adds new features to its system

eComCharge, an EU-based PCI DSS Level 1 online payment company, announces that it has enhanced the system functionality and added payment tokenization to its platform. These changes will bring new possibilities to company’s merchants. Tokenization includes the transformation of secret credit card information into a unique complex identifier. This identifier cannot be reversed mathematically.
The working principle of payment tokenization embraces 3 stages. At the first stage when a customer wants to make a purchase, he or she enters necessary card information into the designated fields. After pressing a ‘submit’ button, all the information encrypted and transmitted to the payment gateway where it is stored and processed. Token is also generated at this stage. At the second stage the payment information is transferred to the processing channel and returned to the payment gateway with accepted or denied results. At the third stage a merchant receives the results of a transaction with a unique generated token. The token can be stored in merchant’s database to carry out future transactions on that account.
The token-based system allows to avoid the procedure of PCI DSS certificate obtaining. Therefore, payment tokenization simplifies all possible transactions. Moreover, it provides the protection of customers’ personal information while its transmission or storage. “This new solution considerably enhances our system of online payment processing. With payment tokenization, merchants are able to conduct their business activity faster and more productive. Besides, it ensures the highest level of security making token identifier is meaningless to fraudsters or hackers,”- points out a representative from eComCharge company.
