Even residents are looking to cool off along the refreshing Santa Fe river at spots such as this, Ginnie Springs. Lovers of the great outdoors come here to snorkel, scuba dive, cycle, boat-ride, or just cool off in the refreshing water.

The water at Ginnie springs is a nice 72 degrees all year round and you can see clearly to the bottom. Divers are thrilled to jump in to discover huge grottos with fish coming in and out. There are actually trainers available and this is a PADI certified dive site.

The still, deep waters at this part of the river is the reason why this 100 acre piece of land was reserved for fun. It is however privately owned. Word has spread since its opening in 1976 that has made Ginnie Springs Outdoors a world tourist destination today.

Many are tempted to come with ATVs and off-road vehicles to the campground; however due to the danger posed to other patrons using the site, the management has banned them from entry. All other vehicle can roll in with no problem.

River tubing is one of the most popular activities at Ginnie Springs. It’s a way to get both a tan and enjoy the water. Tubes can be rented at the site or you can bring along your own. There is also a campsite store for that kind of stuff.

The refreshing sparkle of the clear springs and the fresh air are like therapy after a long, hard week. Although the grounds are open all day every day. Children love it and find it to be a great, big adventure. There is actually a fantastic playground just for them. But of course all this is just a good excuse for adults to be kids again.

Ginnie Springs Outdoors is already flocking and frolicking in it’s summer 2015 edition. They are enjoying the afternoon sun with some kayaking, volleyball, picnicking, canoeing, and generally just having a good time!
