Dustin Hudgeons is a proud supporter of Lubbock Monterey AMUCS, which is dedicated to creating independence for people with disabilities.

Dustin Hudgeons is making volunteer work a major part of his life. He has been a part of Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS since 2010, has helped out the Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center, and helped perform missionary work with Operation Hope. Using his skills and talents to help people in the community around him is important, especially those who are physically limited with disabilities.

"AMBUCS is a nonprofit organization and has members in over 30 states. As a national nonprofit organization, we help disabled children with trykes which have helped improve motor skills, we build ramps so homes and businesses are easily accessible, and we have built playgrounds to be universal for children of all abilities," says Dustin Hudgeons.

As a member of the organization, Dustin Hudgeons feels good about all the work he performs. He has served the organization proudly to further demonstrate his loyalty and commitment to the organization. "I spent one year serving as Secretary of AMBUCS. For two years, I served as Program Chairman of AMBUCS," says Dustin Hudgeons.

Although both roles required a lot of work, Dustin Hudgeons relished his role of responsibility within the organization. Having such an important role for his particular chapter furthered his own sense of helping. "I felt like I was making an even greater impact by serving in such an important position within the organization," says Dustin Hudgeons.

Although he had only started serving the organization in 2010, Dustin Hudgeons was quickly honored with Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS' 2012 Presidential Award. "I was very honored to receive the award. It meant a lot to me to be recognized for the work I've done. But, I also know it wasn't just me, everyone at AMBUCS deserves to be recognized for their work and commitment to helping others," says Dustin Hudgeons.

Despite receiving an award of recognition, Dustin Hudgeons remains quite a humble man. He enjoys helping those in need as well as working to support himself. Dustin Hudgeons also remains physically active. While a lot of his time goes into supporting Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS and other organization, Dustin Hudgeons also donated over $5000 to charities on a Facebook vote in 2011. His donations and volunteer work are part of Dustin Hudgeons' commitment to spreading acts of kindness in and around his community.
