TIRAT CARMEL, Israel; BOSTON, MA – 25 October, 2023 – MeMed, a leader in host response technologies, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract valued at $727,799 by the Division of Research, Innovation, and Ventures (DRIVe) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). The contract will support the execution of a randomized controlled trial designed to build on existing clinical utility data demonstrating that MeMed BV can improve patient outcomes.

The FDA-cleared MeMed BV test is a pioneering host response-based diagnostic tool. Within just 15 minutes, it accurately distinguishes between bacterial and viral infections across multiple healthcare settings, supporting appropriate antibiotic use and thereby helping to combat antibiotic resistance − one of the biggest threats to global health.
