Dr. Thomas Taylor has worked as an academic surgeon for three decades before retiring not long ago. He has a long and distinguished career spanning 30 years across two continents. He completed his raining and began his career in his homeland England. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Manchester and went on to complete his residency and fellowships at several institutions.

After dedicating many years to studying and understanding is chosen field, Dr. Thomas Taylor worked as a lecturer and eventually moved to Manchester and became a consultant of gastroenterology at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Over time he became the Chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery and gained an international reputation. Stateside, Dr. Michael DeBakey noticed Taylor’s work and convinced him to join him at the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas.

Once settled in his new environment, Dr. Taylor once again began to excel. He worked at the Baylor College of Medicine for eight years and then moved to the University of Texas as a Clinical Professor of Surgery. Later he became the Chief of Postgraduate Medical Education, Chief of Academic Surgery, and Surgical Program Director at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Houston. While changes in title and institution were common, his passion for teaching and mentoring fellow doctors remained a constant and he has been a driving force in the careers of hundreds of doctors. That passion for education inspired him to develop ten different patents and publish eight books in addition to 250 researcher papers.

In addition to medicine, Dr. Thomas Taylor is also passionate about sports and the arts. He is an avid singer and devoted sports fan. He grew up playing cricket in England and now enjoys watching it along with many other sports on television.
