Dr. Thomas Taylor worked at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas for many years after arriving in 1993, helping hundreds of students along the way.

Before he made the decision to move to Houston, Texas, Dr. Thomas Taylor had always placed a great deal of importance on the value of education. In addition to enjoying a stellar education in his own right, which created the foundation for the career success that would follow, he also spent a year teaching anatomy at the University of Manchester and was the Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary before being invited to bring his skills to the United States.

Once he arrived in Houston, Dr Thomas Taylor Houston quickly set about establishing a reputation for quality work, sending eight years as a Professor of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. His work was recognized by his peers and he was promoted to the positon of Chief of Academic Surgery in 2001, also taking on the role of Chief of Postgraduate Medical Education in the process. His dedication to the academic success of the students who studied at the college was exemplary and those who aim to teach medicine should follow in his footsteps.

Before making the decision to retire, Dr. Taylor brought a high work ethic and dedication to constant improvement to his role. He understood that in order to be a food educator, one must never lose the first for knowledge, instead aiming to improve on a daily basis. The benefits of this constant education can then be passed onto those who you teach, making you more effective in the role in the process.

It is a philosophy that he has tried to stick to throughout the course of his career and even into his retirement years. Now, Dr. Thomas Taylor spends much of his time in Houston studying the subject of politics and has a particular interest in how the choices made by those in power can have longstanding and far-reaching effects on others. His desire to help others has never waned and he is always happy to share his opinions and experience with those who ask him. He hopes that the work he did at Baylor College of Medicine will be continued now that he has departed.
