Backstage Pass Institute of Gaming and Technology announced the introduction of 30% Scholarships for Women who want to establish themselves as professional Game Designers and Developers.
This initiative was conceived to encourage women participation and to provide them real world experience in design and development of digital games under the mentorship of Game Industry experts.

“In today’s generation, women despite of having abundance of talent and fresh ideas are not much recognized in the Gaming Industry. Women can turn out to be fresh air for the industry if given opportunities. It is necessary that we create awareness and encourage women to become part of this industry because with right training and guidance they can become top professionals in the Game Industry”, Says Surya P who is the Founder and President of Backstage Pass.

Gaming Industry in India has lot of potential for growth, however lack of talented resources is hampering its escalation efforts. Companies are designing games which are not just male oriented but also cater to the female population. That is why Gaming Industry needs more women who are educated and trained in this field and Backstage Pass is on the mission to provide them just that.
Backstage Pass has also introduced 15% Scholarship for Male Students who score 80% and above in their higher secondary examination. This is to help facilitate the career of students who are passionate about designing games yet are financially restricted.

The scholarship programs apply to students who enroll themselves for Bachelor degree courses. Admissions are currently open and students can start applying.
