Dion Abadi has built a successful career for himself in the auction business in Atlanta. He started his career working as an apprentice auctioneer for one of the leading auction houses in the city. The experience he gained working there helped him pass the state auctioneer’s exams and receive his auctioneer’s license.
Dion Abadi graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University and entered the auction business. During high school, he started playing football and eventually made it to the high school football team. Being part of the football team taught him the importance of teamwork and commitment, two things he has held close to his heart. Over the years he has had several apprentices working for him in the auction business, but recently he announced plans to mentor and train upcoming auctioneers. The auction business has changed tremendously over the years with technology making inroads into auction houses. Auctions are being held online and more and more people are finding that bidding online has become easier than going to an actual auction. According to Dion Abadi, with the introduction of technology in the auction business, the need for mentoring and training apprentice auctioneers has become more important. With over twenty years’ experience behind him, Abadi plans to train apprentice auctioneers offering them the chance to learn the skills that helped make him a successful auctioneer.
Some of the skills he plans to impart to his apprentice auctioneers include communication, presentation, positive energy projection, sense of urgency, and clarity to name a few. Abadi plans to offer mentorship to those with a keen interest in auctioning but who lack the necessary skills to make it on their own.
Dion Abadi has also been closely involved with volunteer work in the community and has organized several charity auctions to raise funds for worthy causes. He and his wife reside in Atlanta and they have four children, all working in different sectors. Abadi is also a skilled, self-taught mechanic who bought and restored a 1968 Ford Mustang 428 Cobra Jet.
