Pokhara offers a lot of, with a few of Nepal's best hiking, cycling, paragliding, a few of the worlds best rafting & kayaking on several different rivers, various temples, bizarre views, and a gorgeous lake to devote some time floating around. It might be a bumpy 8-hour bus ride from Kathmandu, but it is definitely worth it.
