L Zone falls in Dwarka; and, it is part of DDA’s plan to make it the site of the first Delhi Smart City. The need of urgent housing in Delhi is no secret. However, interesting to note is the fact that DDA has also taken it up as an opportunity to introduce more modern and green residential neighborhoods to the capital.
People will enjoy a plethora of new measures in their locality to make them environment and child-friendly.
Infrastructure
Infrastructure in the smart city will be an improvement on what residents get in current DDA approved CGHS flats. More importantly, it will be of newer designs and technology. This relates to everything from sewage and drainage systems to the supply of cooking gas and water.
With Smart City the aim is to develop holistic localities. Hence, infrastructure both residential, commercial and community level will be developed simultaneously. There will be bigger green and open areas, wider roads, and playgrounds for children.
At the same time, to make the Smart City Awas Yojna safer for women and children, advanced technology, monitoring equipment and better lighting would be provided on the streets and all public spaces.
Environment-Friendly
This is the noblest goal that Delhi Awas Mission has envisioned. This is a need of not just one residential locality but whole of Delhi. However, one has to begin somewhere. There could not have been a better opportunity since, it is new project.
All developers participating in the mission and DDA itself will install infrastructure for proper treatment of sewage before it is discharged and there will be arrangements for rain water harvesting. Proper segregation of daily household waste and ways to reduce it are also at the top of the priority list for L Zone development of DDA for Delhi Smart City.
